Discover Masquerade: Brooklyn’s Cozy Haven for Natural Wines and Persian Flavors

Nestled in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, Masquerade Restaurant is a charming spot that seamlessly blends the art of slow food with the elegance of natural wines and handcrafted cocktails. This inviting establishment specializes in seasonal Persian dishes, offering guests a delicious journey through authentic flavors and thoughtful culinary practices.

At Masquerade, the focus is on supporting local farmers and partners, emphasizing sustainable and fresh ingredients prepared with traditional slow food methods. The menu features a rotating selection of wines, perfect for discovering new favorites, complemented by nightly vinyl music sessions that create a warm, nostalgic atmosphere.

During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of sampling several standout offerings. The basil cucumber sharbat was incredibly fresh and flavored, providing a refreshing start to the experience. We couldn’t resist ordering their bread maze twice—so good it was! The lamb burger was juicy and flavorful, perfectly paired with the aromatic Sabzi Polo Mahi—a delightful Persian herb rice with tender fish. We also enjoyed a rich Kashk Shirazi Borani, blending tangy yogurt, herbs, and spices that truly highlighted the cuisine’s vibrant flavors.

A highlight of the night was the saffron old fashioned—a beautifully crafted cocktail where the fragrant saffron added a luxurious twist to this classic drink.

Whether you’re a fan of authentic Persian cuisine, gluten-free slow foods, or simply looking for a cozy spot with great wine and music, Masquerade offers an unforgettable dining experience rooted in tradition and community. Make sure to stop by and indulge in their seasonal dishes and curated drinks—you won’t be disappointed!
